Declassified ‘Dear Diary’ Email Pushes Susan Rice into Coup Attempt Spotlight

A fully declassified email from Susan Rice to herself in the last days of the Obama Presidency was released that shows “the coup” attempt started, with entrapping Lt. Gen Mike Flynn as a way to handicap and eventually overthrow the Trump Administration.

The memo, which up until Tuesday was already mostly declassified, was fully declassified through an effort by acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell and Attorney General William Barr following a request from Republican Sens. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

When Obama national security adviser Susan Rice sent this ominous “by the book” internal memo to herself on President Trump’s Inauguration Day, speculation was that it was a “CYA move” because the Left never thought Hillary would lose, so the email would act as exculpatory evidence. So, it went down to the wire.

The last Obama/first Trump day for America was met with mixed emotions across the nation and Rice’s “by the book” email never garnered that much attention. That’s because at the time, nobody knew what it meant.

In retrospect, it explains a lot of the hostility toward Trump by Obama and his minions because, according to the newly-declassified Rice email from Obama’s sealed Presidential Archives, they were the ones who were trying to take him down before he ever took office. Hence, the question: “What did Obama know and when did he know it?”

In a section of the email to herself that was already declassified, Rice wrote: “On January 5, following a briefing by IC [intelligence community] leadership on Russian hacking during the 2016 presidential election, President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Jim Comey and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in the Oval Office. Vice President Biden and I were also present.”

Many see an effort on Obama’s part to mitigate his culpability in the scheme when he revised Executive Order 13467 on January 17, 2017. The revisions state that investigators control the information and reports on individuals being vetted for federal employment regarding access to classified information.

The email also shows that now-fired FBI Director James Comey unilaterally decided not to share intelligence information with the incoming national security adviser, retired Gen. Michael Flynn. Instead, he weaponized the agency against Gen. Flynn in an effort to silence him.

Comey admitted in 2018 that he had taken advantage of the chaos in the early days of Trump’s administration when he sent FBI agent Peter Strzok and another FBI agent believed to be Joseph Pientka to talk to Flynn, who was a target of the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation into ties between the Trump campaign and Russia, on Jan. 24, 2017.

Rice was Obama’s U.N. Ambassador and foreign policy adviser. Her father, Emmett J. Rice is the second black governor of the Federal Reserve. In an ironic twist, her son, John Rice-Cameron is the president of the Stanford College Republicans.
