Lockdowns Only Good for Making You Poorer — WHO Special Envoy

The World Health Organization’s special envoy on COVID-19 stunned the world, urging world leaders to stop using lockdowns as the primary control method against the spread of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus.

Dr. David Nabarro from the WHO appealed to world leaders, telling them to stop “using lockdowns as your primary control method” of the coronavirus.

He also claims that the only thing lockdowns achieved was poverty – with no mention of the potential lives saved.

“Lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer,” he said.

The indirect impact of the COVID-19 may have a long-lasting detrimental impact on the progress and improvements in Solidarity Response Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (SRMNCAH).  Increasing evidence shows that the direct response to limit the spread of SARS-COV-2 infection such as lockdowns and school closures, may have secondary psycho-social and economic consequences that particularly impact women and children.

However, as late as August, Joe Biden still vows to shut the country down, according to ABC News.

“Just look at what’s happened to the tourism industry in the Caribbean, for example, or in the Pacific because people aren’t taking their holidays,” Nabarro said.

“Look what’s happened to smallholder farmers all over the world. … Look what’s happening to poverty levels. It seems that we may well have a doubling of world poverty by next year. We may well have at least a doubling of child malnutrition.”

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission, according to WHO, is to be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face.
