The results are in and the Department of Justice’s Operation Legend has netted 6,000 arrests of child traffickers and pedophiles. Of those 6,000 arrested, 1,500 have been charged with federal offenses, and 500 were charged with homicide.
“The Department’s Operation Legend is named in honor of one of Kansas City’s youngest victims, four-year old LeGend Taliferro who was shot in the face while sleeping in his bed. LeGend’s death is a horrifying reminder that violent crime left unchecked is a threat to us all and cannot be allowed to continue,” U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr said in a statement at the initiative launch on July 8th.
Operation Legend’s mission is to go into American cities to quell the groundswell of violence and unrest that is perpetrated by Antifa and Black Lives Matter protesters and anarchists. The systematic and coordinated law enforcement initiative across all federal law enforcement agencies working in conjunction with state and local law enforcement officials will fight the sudden surge of violent crime, according Barr.
