Pure Michigan has gone the way of pure insanity as it joins New York and California in modifying their dominions from free states to communist dictatorships.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump has caused another brouhaha in the state of Michigan when he toured the Ford Plant, in Ypsilanti, that is now manufacturing ventilators. Trump received a stern warning from Dem. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer that he had to wear a mask or he would not be allowed to visit.
What is she smoking and why won’t she share? Who, in their right mind, would give such an ultimatum to a man who can answer the question, “You and what army?”
State Attorney General Dana Nessel, a Democrat, sent an open letter Wednesday urging Trump to wear a mask at the plant, saying the requirement “is not just the policy of Ford.”
“By virtue of the governor’s executive orders” it “is currently the law of this State,” Nessel said.
Does Michigan have a state legislature?
Evidently, Michigan’s governor, attorney general, and secretary of state aren’t aware that executive orders are not worth the paper on which they are printed. No state law can supersede the United States Constitution, but they believe that because they say it, it has to be so.
Whitmer is banning citizens from travelling between two residences, as well as ordering big box stores to prohibit residents from purchasing what she considered to be non-essential items, including carpet and flooring, furniture, gardening and paint.
Residents who violate the governor’s orders were threatened with $1000 fines.
Michigan barber Karl Manke, 77, defied the governor’s orders and reopened his business, despite threats of fines and jail time. A Michigan judge has declined to sign an order to shut down the barber’s business,
As if these incidents aren’t bad enough for Michigan residents, two day ago, two dams in central Michigan failed, displacing thousands of residents and threatening the Dow Superfund site. Two dams? Seriously? It makes you wonder how much help they had.
As for the President in Ypsilinati, of course he didn’t wear the mask!
(Although he said he did for a bit, when required. But not in the photo ops.)
