Search and rescue efforts were underway on Sunday for a missing U.S. Navy Sailor in the North Arabian Sea.
When the sailor could not be located onboard the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) man overboard was called, according to a Navy spokesperson.
Both the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) and guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59) are currently conducting search and rescue operations in the North Arabian Sea for the missing sailor.
The Sailor has been listed as Duty Status Whereabouts Unknown (DUSTWUN) on board Nimitz. The Sailor’s name is not being released yet in accordance with Navy policy.
The search continued as night fell on the region. Updates are expected as they become available.
